Seems like many in the nonprofit world think profits = business. As you describe here, profits are not allowed in the traditional sense . . . but you better be running the operation like a business because that's what it is. Too many miss that point.

This is so valuable and true. For sustainability purposes there needs to be a level of for-profit thinking and strategy to disrupt the norm of underpaid management and staff while maintaining a healthy financial standing.
Absolutely. The sector, and our communities, should want top talent leading the way on our largest social issues…. and we should also want to take care of the people driving the work.

yep. profits are allowed, but they cant be distributed to individuals for private benefit.
